Another early morning wake up and another big breakfast
We had a long drive back out to the start point. It was hot early, already 27C at 9:30am. Derek and Mike ran with me in the morning, Mike ran 15km and Derek ran 20km. Ben tried to sleep at times during the morning, and would have come running but for a sore foot.
I continued on to 30km and had lunch in a parking lot. About 1km after lunch I met up with Kelsey and Shannon, who had run with me yesterday in Toronto. We ran for a couple of km before we met up with Dave Islam, my sister’s old skating coach, his son Mitch and a few other friends.
I also met up with Genevieve, a friend of mine from high school who I haven’t seen in years. She brought us water, Gatorade, apples and donuts! Amazing!
We ran around Lake Simcoe, giving out the Steps to Action to everybody we passed. It was so nice that, after finishing the day in the middle of farmland we drove back to go for a swim! We decided to treat ourselves to a stay in the Holiday Inn that night.
For dinner, we headed to Urban Dish – delicious! I ate a hearty meal of pasta, ribs, and an orange sorbet for dessert! According to Grampy, I should stop eating so much so I can get down to 165lbs! Apparently that would make running much easier. My uncle Derek and cousin Andrew stopped by the Urban Dish for a drink on their way back from the cottage. I love getting to see all my Toronto relatives on this leg of the journey! Upon arriving back to the Holiday Inn, it is clear that I need to get to bed earlier! However, it’s hard when the sun stays in the sky until 9:30pm!
