Day 94 August 8, 2011 Raith to Middle of Nowhere 71km

Time traveling
The Days Inn has a continental breakfast that starts at 5am, which is awesome because that was when we were going to leave to go from breakfast. Instead we sat down for a breakfast that included waffles! I love waffles!
The drive back out to Raith took a while, despite little traffic, thanks to a number of construction sites that we had to traverse. When I started running though I felt pretty good after my day off.
I stopped just before 10am to do an interview over the phone with iRun magazine. It was hard to hear some of the questions with semis blasting past and I’m sure he had some trouble hearing me at times.
It doesn’t seem that one day off was enough for my feet and they started hurting a lot before lunch. I crossed the height of land so now all of the water flows north to the Arctic Ocean instead of the great lakes as the water before this point was doing. Shortly after crossing the height of land I crossed into Central Time. Hey, I’m making some progress here after all!
I finished running 70km and was walking the usual 1km to cool down and stretch out when 700m into it a massive thunderstorm poured down upon me. I did my stretching inside the MCC today.
Despite our phones changing into Central Time earlier today, for some reason they have now changed back to EST. It’s a little bizarre, but because we use our phones as our alarms, and because we were too lazy to manually change the time, we continued operating as though we were still in EST.
Perhaps tomorrow we’ll make the change.
