Day 95 August 9, 2011 Middle of Nowhere to Ignace 71km

16 Aug

I haven’t been cold in a while

It rained all day today, like all day. I was cold all day today too, which is something I haven’t experienced in a long time and was a nice change. I’m still cold now that I’m done and writing this blog. I’m lying in my bed under the covers with my fleece on; didn’t stop me from getting ice cream today though.

Besides the rain and the havoc it played on my feet I listened to another 8 hours of Atlas Shrugged. It still hasn’t changed my life yet. At one point while I was running along two coyotes wandered out in front of me on the highway. I stopped and looked back at Mike but he wasn’t looking so I just stood there and watched as they slowly walked across the road looking at me. It was a little eerie. Actually it was pretty scary. I’ve seen one coyote before but never two and they were big enough that I though they were wolves at first. Thankfully they weren’t interested in hanging out with me and continued on their way down the bank and into the forest.

I’ve run out of tape for my feet and couldn’t find any place in Ignace because the pharmacy was closed so I’ll have to use pink duct tape tomorrow.

We spent the night in the parking lot of a 24-hour restaurant surrounded by about 25 semi trucks. I feel like a trucker.

I hope my duct tape works tomorrow!
